  • 15th Xangaversary

The 24th marked 15 years for me here at Xanga. I think we were some of the first bloggers. It was mainly a community of writers, poets and artists. We shared our work with each other and like pen-pals became long-distance friends. Most of us have gone on to other social media sites, but they're not the same. Some of us still keep in touch. I'm glad of that. I continue to post my poetry here; I publish little of it elsewhere. The world seems in too big a hurry for long posts, and memes and funny cat videos have replaced much of real writing. I miss what we had here. It was very good.

  • Fifteen years down the road! My xangaversary was the 21st I believe. I miss it. The energy, creativity, discovery and even some of the drama. Well, here we are. I'm a little bored with memes and never have been a cat fan. Maybe there is still a 'place' like xangaversary somewhere on the Internet. I don't know, but I have a lot to thank xanga for, and wish I could recapture a little of the olden days.
Imagine. The internet has olden days.

  • wow Cheri! nice to see you are still sort of here. Xanga was our first internet love, and what a place it was! i hope we still pop in from time to time and remember the wild west of the internet...

  • Lucy, good to hear from you! Pop in anytime.

  • Kathy, time flies. I'm glad to still be able to keep up with your writings elsewhere.
