    Gifts of Gold

    Times are hard, money’s tight;
    nerves are frayed, people fight.

    Though not found ‘neath a tree,
    gifts of gold can be free.

    Hold a hand, give a hug;
    put a smile on your mug.

    Pat a back, feed a friend;
    find some fences to mend.

    Cut some slack, eat some crow;
    drop a grudge— save your dough.

    Times are hard, money’s tight;
    things seem dark— be a light!
